The Astrotek USB-C Female to HDMI Female Adapter allow your device to output video FROM a USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 port to an HDMI display by connecting to a U SB-C 3.1 cable. Support resolutions up to 4K.

This Adapter must use USB 3.1 Gen. 2 Cable(support DP Alt Mode 4K resolution) or Thunderbolt 3 cable to make it work.

PAY ATTENTION TO THE LIMITATION: This product DOES NOT support video output from HDMI port to an external display.

That means you can’t output video from your laptop or other devices with standard HDMI port to a display or monitor with any type of video input ports.
